Into September and the blessed rain has returned.  So far, it has mostly been behaving itself, falling persistently but moderately save the occasional downpour.  The lawns are tentatively reviving and the rest of the garden seems to be putting on a late burst of activity.  Autumn is always my favourite time of year and this year it may just be ready to delight even more than normal. Time will tell. 

I work in West Oxfordshire as a gardener, helping with general maintenance and upkeep, be that weeding, pruning, tidying, planting or any number of tasks.  Gardening is a pleasure, despite the attentions of bugs and bees, assaults by roses and the mercurial nature of the British climate, be it too hot or too wet.  A well-tended border, a nicely trimmed hedge, a freshly mown lawn or a bed full of interest offer regular moments of pleasure to make each day worthwhile - weather permitting.
